HITMAN
RECORDS INC. has an exclusive partnership
arrangement with an overseas manufacturing and
research and development (“R&D”)
company which develops and offers various high-tech
digital players and peripherals. This partnership
includes exclusive production capabilities in
R&D, engineering, producing and selling
digital and high-tech USB products. Hitman’s
wholly owned affiliate was organized in January
of 2000 in order to negotiate with technology
manufacturing companies based in China and R&D
centers in Taiwan to obtain the most competitive
manufacturing cost, to provide innovative designs
on new generation high tech products.
With over 10 years in market
development, Hitman has promptly built up a
high efficient sales channel in the Chinese
market and by modern administration, new principles
of management and superior service system. In
order to provide direct, complete and multiple
services to our clients, Hitman’s partners
have created the Overseas Market Services Department
and in addition placed an Import-Export Department
in enhancing clientele. “Our mission is
to provide high quality products at a competitive
price to our worldwide customers and contribute
customer satisfaction.”
The business model for Hitman
Records is sure to become the next phase in
the evolution of the recording industry. Hitman’s
business model is loosely based on the Japanese
keiretsu system, a form of organization based
on networks rather than hierarchy which in effect
achieves the scale economies of vertical integration
with a much more centerpiece of a network of
affiliated companies working in conjunction,
with all the capabilities of a major label but
the low overhead and flexibility of an independent.
Hitman Records will eventually
evolve into a large independent retail and digital
distributor and will still have internal recording
artists as well. The overall vision is to create
“vast volume economic growth” in
other words, a system in place minimizing excessive
overhead while maintaining multiple revenue
centers streamlining through digital and retail
ordering, cross-utilization of B2B and consumer
absorption. It is sometimes said that “small
business” in America has the distinct
advantage over “big” business of
being able to move at the “speed of light”.
Small businesses, especially in our industry
that do not make the most of this advantage
are simply dropping the ball. What this means
to us is that with diligent analysis, forethought
and vision, an indie label can in fact get ahead
of the curve to some degree. We have a strong
team, very analytical minds at work. Trends
in our industry can be glaringly obvious, but
also can be short lived and even invisible much
of the time as you look down the road and around
the corner. We look to be that company, one
always analyzing, always looking to act first
and with the advantage of “light speed”,
seeking to stay ahead of the curve.
Retail Distribution and Digital
Distribution is one key capability of Hitman
Records which sets it apart from other independent
record labels and places it on equal footing
with the majors. Hitman’s distribution
with Harvest Media Group and Sumthing Distribution
gives it the ability to distribute to over 9,000
US retail outlets; such as: Bestbuy (400-outlets),
BlockBuster (375-outlets), Borders Books &
Music (261-outlets), FYE / Camelot Music (1,000-outlets),
Musicland Group/Sam Goody (1,337-outlets), Tower
(90-oulets)
